As we come to the middle of the year, the Old Northside Foundation would like to thank everyone who has been a part of our fundraising efforts in the past and into the future. We have been pleasantly surprised at how many have helped with the maintenance of the Old Northside parks by purchasing items in our Old Northside store. Shameless plug, a great new summer candle scent is available while supplies last.
So far this year you will have noticed the continuously changing plants in our two parks with a particular emphasize in the Great Oak Commons Victorian walking garden. Also, you may have noticed the new picnic tables at Shawn Grove Park. We are currently working with our contractor to prepare for needed repairs for shed in Shawn Grove. All of that is planned work to help keep the parks open, safe, and beautiful for our neighbors and the friends of the Old Northside.
Since the start of the year our fundraising efforts have brought in roughly $8000 and we hope, with your help, to bring in $27,000. So, mark your calendars for a whole month of October fun with the Wreath of Davey Jones competition that launches October 8th and culminating with our Plunder in the Park event October 23rd. We are excited to again have the Plunder in the Park event with two bands, beer, wine, and a myriad of food trucks!
