Mark your calendars on Saturday, April 13th for the annual Old Northside Spring Cleanup. We will be coordinating with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful’s (KIB) Great Indy Cleanup, who will provide some supplies for the project. The day will begin at 10am with complimentary coffee and donuts at Great Oak Commons. (Plenty of time to check out the Presidential Egg Roll at the Benjamin Harrison House at 9am before heading over to the park.) After we get some energy from sugar and caffeine, we will gather our supplies and break into groups to tackle streets, parks and other parts of the neighborhood that need attention. Watch your email, Facebook and Nextdoor for more specific instruction.
Which street will have the most participants? Will it be the folks on Broadway? The eastsiders of Carrolton? The residents of Alabama or will a numbered street swoop in for the honors?
Keep the spirit of competition going and consider becoming a KIB Adopt-A-Block captain to help keep the Old Northside looking its best year-round. More information regarding Keep Indianapolis Beautiful can be found at www.kibi.org/adopt-block.
