The Wreath of Davey Jones is a mythical prize to help quell any pirates desire for plunder! On Friday October 2nd our great neighborhood will set out to find this years' Wreath of Davey Jones and the Blimey. Our search will be comprised of two competitions to be judged by communal vote. Only through a communal vote will The Wreath of Davey Jones and Blimey winners be revealed. Voting will commence online Friday October 2nd and will conclude at 11:59PM Saturday October 3rd.
Two initiatives of the Old Northside Foundation will be supported by the funds collected from this competition. The first initiative is refreshing the playground mulch in Shawn Grove Park (1401 N Alabama St). The second initiative is repainting the fountain at Great Oak Commons Park (1427 N Park Ave). This year we have a goal of $5000 - $7000 to be raised by this event.
A competition with the purpose of seeing who can create this year's favorite pirate themed wreath. An entry fee and registration is required to compete in the Wreath of Davey Jones competition. Your wreath(s) should be complete and on your door(s) by September 30th to allow a member of the Old Northside Foundation to collect an image of the wreath and add it to our online gallery of wreaths for the community to vote on. Displaying your wreath by this date will also allow neighbors to get a sneak peek at the contestants in the wreath competition and highlight your hard work in creating your wreath. Voting will commence online Friday October 2nd and will conclude at 11:59PM Saturday October 3rd. The winner of the Wreath of Davey Jones competition will be highlighted in the Urban Times, their winning wreath will be placed on display during next year's Plunder in the Park event, they will receive 4 entry tickets to Plunder 2021, and they will receive 8 drink tickets (must be 21 year's of age to receive drink tickets) for use during Plunder 2021.
As a way to help our neighbors get started on their wreath(s), and a primary way to raise funds, there will be wreath kits for sale. The kit will include many of the basics you need to get started on your wreath(s) such as a pirate wreath look book, wire frame, feathers, and ribbon. The purchase of a kit includes your entry into the competition, and you will have a choice between a one door and a two door kit available on the event registration page.

The Old Northside Neighborhood Association created a Land Use Committee (LUC) to review all Indianapolis Historic Preservation Commission (IHPC) applications for a Certificate of Appropriateness or Authorization within the neighborhood which require an IHPC hearing.
IHPC applicants are encouraged to meet with the LUC before submitting an application to IHPC. This allows the LUC to assist applicants and facilitate the process.
Interested Neighbors are encouraged to participate to show support or express concerns. The meeting is in the All Saints Parrish Building in the lower level. This is on the north side the church and the door faces Central Avenue.
The committee can be contacted at email@example.com
