The Old Northside Neighborhood Association created a Land Use Committee (LUC) to review all Indianapolis Historic Preservation Commission (IHPC) applications for a Certificate of Appropriateness or Authorization within the neighborhood which require an IHPC hearing.
IHPC applicants are encouraged to meet with the LUC before submitting an application to IHPC. This allows the LUC to assist applicants and facilitate the process.
Interested Neighbors are encouraged to participate to show support or express concerns. If we are meeting physically, the meeting is in the All Saints Parrish Building in the lower level. This is on the north side the church and the door faces Central Avenue, otherwise information for a virtual Zoom meeting will be published. We typically meet on the 2nd Wednesday of the month. If there are no items on the agenda, the meeting is typically canceled.
The committee can be contacted at luc@oldnorthside.org
The famed Old Northside yard sale is back! Whether you are buying or selling wears this neighborhood wide event will allow us all to come and take part in a collective adventure.
Please register for this event if you are looking to be included in the neighborhood map of all of the yard sales.
It's getting so close! Our Yard Hop Social will feature multiple (TBD) homes in the @oldnorthside Saturday, August 20. This is an open yard event, so you are welcome to visit any one of the houses at anytime between 7-9p. BYOB and plan to socialize outside with your neighbors.
Stay tuned for a spotlight and more details on each home and host. #onsyardhop #onsindy #oldnorthside #downtownindy #historicindy
We welcome you to join in the fun and festivities at the main event, The Plunder in the Park! This year our pirate party is tacking to an earlier date to make sure all the fun for our little pirates can be safe and to have the warm (not blistering like July) breeze of a September night can prolong the plunder fun! Join us for live music, food trucks, our pirate kids zone, beer, wine, and fun!
What about our search for the Wreath of Davey Jones you ask? Well we are keeping the search for the Wreath of Davey Jones in October as a way to make sure we keep the plunder spirit going longer into the year and help our houses show a little pirate pride over Halloween! Find out more about the Wreath of Davey Jones here.
The funds collected from this event help to support the Old Northside Foundation's efforts to maintain and revitalize the neighborhood's central avenue art columns and the two parks Shawn Grove Park (1401 N Alabama St) and Great Oak Commons (1427 N Park Ave).

This will be our last chance to give our streets a good clean up from leaves and trash to help us have a little less mess this winter!
The Wreath of Davey Jones is a mythical prize to help build any pirates desire for plunder! On Friday, October 7th our great neighborhood will set out to find this years' Wreath of Davey Jones. This year we will be mixing up our search and looking to add some fun new elements. Stay tuned for updates!
In the Old Northside we are known for many things, but one we love to share is that of community. To keep spirits high and bring a little holiday light to winter season, we will be hosting our holiday luminary walk tradition. A Winter Light in the Old Northside. Many people that live in our neighborhood love donning their homes and yards with holiday lights to bring joy to all during a gray Indiana season.
As we come closer to the time for our fun holiday tradition, we will be updating you with more information about the event and the fun things to do the night of our luminary walk! Be sure to stay tuned!
